SACO — Rose Helene Legendre, 95, of Saco, passed away Saturday afternoon on Sept. 12, 2015, at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford.

She was born in Saco on May 13, 1920, a daughter of Ovila and Clairina (Blier) Cantara. She was educated at Notre Dame de Lourdes School and graduated from high school in Canada.

Rose married her husband William on May 1, 1948.

She was employed by Saco Lowell Shops for five years. She later was the food director for Notre Dame de Lourdes School for 20 years.

She was an avid card player. Most of all, she loved to spend time her family.

Rose was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. She was the organist and a member of the choir for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by: her husband William on July 25, 2007; and by seven siblings.

She is survived by: three sons, Raynald G. Legendre and his wife Sandy of Saco, Robert J. Legendre and his wife Roberta of West Linn, Oregon, and Raymond A. Legendre and Cheryl of Saco; six grandchildren, Meghan, Desirae, Matthew, Alexi, Jessica, and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James Street, Saco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
