AUGUSTA (AP) — Environmental Commissioner Patricia Aho is stepping down after four years to work for Sen. Susan Collins. Aho said Monday she worked to streamline regulations, to increase accountability and transparency, and to modernize the Department of Environmental Protection’s approach to doing business.

Gov. Paul LePage described her as a “tremendous asset” to the administration by improving efficiency.
