BIDDEFORD  — Donald K. Pepin, 68, of Biddeford, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born March 6, 1949, in Portland, a son of Raymond A. and Lorraine S. (Rodrigue) Pepin. He was educated locally, graduating from St. Louis High School in 1967, where he had been a member of the football team. Don went on to St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business & Economics in the Class of 1971.

Don had been employed with the City of Biddeford for 24 years as building inspector in the Code Enforcement Ofice, retiring in 2011.

On May 6, 1995, he married Debbie Sharpe in Saco.

Always interested in sports, Don had competed as a speed skater as a young man. He enjoyed traveling, photography and reading.

Preceding him in death were: his father on June 29, 2013; his sister, Diane Landry on Dec. 7, 2013; and his mother on Nove. 26, 2015.

He is survived by: his wife, Debbie Sharpe-Pepin of Biddeford; his daughter, Samantha Turbide and her husband, Mo, of Auburn; a brother, Carl Pepin and his wife, Holly, of Kennebunk; stepson, Michael Sharpe of Wells; grandchildren Amber and Donald Turbide of Auburn; his mother-in-law, Vivian Gagne of Biddeford; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
