BIDDEFORD — Simone Flore Nadeau, 92, of Biddeford died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1925, the only child of Louis and Albina (Wright) Tanguay in Rumford, Maine.

On Jan. 20, 1945, she married Lucien Patrick Nadeau at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. Only a few days later, Lucien was deployed to serve in the United States Army. They were able to spend 43 wonderful years together until Lucien’s death on Oct. 9, 1988.

For 25 years Simone worked at St. Andre’s Healthcare as a baker until her retirement in 1996 when she was 71.

Simone had a love for the fall, flowers, music, bird watching, and cooking. She always stayed educated and up to date with current events, but her utmost devotion was to her children and family.

She is preceeded in death by her husband, Lucien, and four infant children.

Simone is survived by four children, Dorothy Tousignant of Saco, Donald Nadeau and his wife Kathleen of Belleville, Illinos, Raymond Nadeau of Biddeford and Michael Nadeau of Biddeford; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visiting Hours will be 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct.16, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
