The 13U Saco Bay Blue Devils won the Elite Baseball League’s Division 1A Championship on July 18 in Danvers, Massachusetts. Saco beat the Academy Royals of Peabody, Massachusetts 3–0 in the title game.

Ryan Penney was the winning pitcher for the Blue Devils, as he tossed a nine-inning completegame shutout.

In the fourth inning, Stephen Emerson doubled in the winning run.

The Saco Bay Blue Devils are comprised of players from Saco, Biddeford, Sanford, Buxton and Waterboro. The 13-year-old locals compete in a league against teams from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The season runs from April through July. Going into the playoffs, the Blue Devils were ranked as the No. 1 seed. They reached the finals after beating teams from Dover, New Hampshire and Fall River, Massachusetts.
