ALFRED — A Biddeford man arrested in March related to an alleged Saco stabbing was recently indicted.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but a finding that enough evidence exists to move forward with prosecution.
Nicholas Birkemose, 28, was indicted at York County Superior Court earlier this month, according to court records.
Birkemose was arrested March 23 by Saco and Biddeford police at his room at the Thatcher Motel on Main Street in Biddeford and was charged with elevated aggravated assault in relation to a March 14 stabbing, according to police reports.
On March 14, a 25- year-old man was allegedly stabbed on Winter Street in Saco. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening stab wound to his upper body, according to police reports.
