PORTLAND — The Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves split a doubleheader on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field. Erie (46-69) took game one, 4-3 ,and Portland (42-75) won game two, 6-4.
Tim Roberson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, and Portland led 3-0 after three, but Jason Krizan tied it with a three-run triple in the fifth and later scored in the inning.
Warwick Saupold earned the win in game one, allowing three earned runs on six hits in five innings. Aaron Wilkerson was handed the loss, allowing four earned runs on six hits in six innings.
The Sea Dogs jumped ahead 3-0 again in game two, only for Erie to tie it. But Dustin Lawley hit a three-run home run in the third that gave Portland the lead for good.
Madison Younginer earned the win in relief for Portland in game two, working two innings and allowing one earned run on two hits. Austin Kubitza pitched all six innings but was handed the loss for Erie, allowing six earned runs on seven hits.
