Students in Learning Community 6 at Sanford Junior High School “took flight” recently, learning about a number of aspects of aviation, including early aviators. Here, Etain Cullen represents Katherine Wright, an aviator and sister to Orville and Wilbur Wright; Adrian Moore represents aviator Jacques Montgolfier, one of the brothers who invented the hot air balloon; Mollie Hludik as pilot Elinor Smith; Kaitlyn Catalano, representing Charles Lindbergh; Felicia Meas as aviator Katherine Cheung; Alice Nolin, representing Anne Lindbergh; and in front, Ashlyn Park and Jamie Daigle representing the Montgolfier brothers.
