SACO — Sam Canales had a bases-loaded triple in the fourth inning to help Fayette-Staples to a 7-3 victory and a split of an American Legion baseball doubleheader against Saco & Biddeford Savings on Wednesday.

Saco-Biddeford (8-3) took advantage of three errors and an RBI single by Cory Collard to score five runs in the first inning on the way to an 8-3 win in the opener.

Jon Dupee had a two-run single in the first inning of Game 2 for Fayette-Staples (10-1), and Keegan Sullivan allowed five hits and struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings. 

FIRST TITLE 7, O.A.-YARMOUTH 2: Jack Bushey pitched a seven-hitter with four strikeouts and had two hits with two RBI to lead First Title (3-4) over Orthopaedic Associates of Yarmouth (2-7) at Portland.

Ryan Cavallaro was had two hits and an RBI for O.A.-Yarmouth.

NORTH SHORE 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3: Dario Pizzano hit a two-run homer as the Navigators (12-9) scored three runs in the ninth to beat the Raging Tide at Lynn, Mass.

Billy Bereszniewicz had three hits for the Raging Tide (4-16).

WINDHAM MERCHANTS 16, ALL SPORTS PRINTING 3: Robbie Hamilton had three hits and seven RBI to lead Windham Merchants past All Sports Printing (1-5) at Gorham.
