
She was born in Sanford on June 8, 1926, the daughter of Philippe and Aldea (Poirier) Thibodeau, and attended Sanford schools.
Jeanne worked at Universal Shoe for several years, retiring to raise her family. She had been a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Church.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael Mathieu.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Dumont and her husband Daniel of Berwick; two sons, Richard Mathieu and his wife Elizabeth of Dover, New Hampshire and Daniel Mathieu and his wife Olivia of Hagerstown, Maryland; a sister, Claire Snell of Augusta; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesay at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
