An Old Orchard Beach family of five is expected to be displaced for a time after a fire at their home at 54 15th St. Sunday afternoon. Old Orchard Beach Fire Department Capt. John Fitzsimmons said the fire started in a clothes dryer. The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m., and firefighters were able to effect a quick knockdown, wrapping up the operation by about 7:30 p.m. Fitzsimmons said the American Red Cross was assisting the family Sunday night. The family, whose name was not available this morning, lost two cats and a gerbil in the fire. Firefighters from Biddeford, Saco and Scarborough assisted, while Arundel provided station coverage.
