GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — On Tuesday, the Maine Red Claws erased a big deficit to beat Grand Rapids. Thursday night, the Drive returned the favor.

Needing just one win to clinch a playoff spot, the Claws watched Grand Rapids erase an 18-point deficit in the fourth quarter, and the result was a 110-109 victory for the Drive. Adonis Thomas (26 points) gave Grand Rapids the lead for good, and Chris Babb (15 points) missed a three at the buzzer that would have sent Maine to the post-season.

Maine (29-14) was led by a career night for Romero Osby. Both his 27 points and 12 rebounds were career highs.

The Red Claws led 100-82 with 8:54 to go in the game. From that point, Grand Rapids outscored the Claws 28-9.

James Young, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, finished with 14 points on 4 of 16 shooting. Omari Johnson added 15 points off the bench, and Tim Frazier finished with seven points, six rebounds and eight assists.

The Red Claws return to action Saturday at Texas. Maine still needs just one win to secure their second-ever playoff berth. Tip-off Saturday is set for 8 p.m.
