SHAPLEIGH — Lena Y. Descoteaux, 85 of Shapleigh, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford.
She was born in Biddeford July 25, 1929, the daughter of Oswald and Yvonne (Magnan) Pombriant, and was educated in Biddeford schools.
On Aug. 26, 1945, she married Fernand O. Descoteaux at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
Over her working life, Lena had been employed at Pepperell Manufacturing., Components, Webber Hospital/Southern Maine Medical Center, retiring in 1996. In her retirement she worked at Walmart.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching game shows and cooking.
She is survived by: three daughters, Yvonne Brackett and her husband Donald of Shapleigh, Joanne Bastarache and her husband Roger of Biddeford, and Rita Rose and her husband Howard of Biddeford; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford later in the spring.
