BIDDEFORD — Raymond E. Herrick Sr., 58, of Biddeford, passed away peacefully Sunday evening on March 1, 2015 in Biddeford.

He was born in Wolfe-boro, New Hampshire on Oct. 21, 1956, a son of Donald and Ginger (Britton) Herrick.

Ray was employed as an apartment manager in Biddeford for many years. He also owned and operated Ray’s Junk & Scrap Metal Removal. Ray had an incredible work ethic, always taking on many projects from making Christmas wreaths to helping anyone in need, usually working seven days a week. When time permitted, he enjoyed playing pool.

One of his passions in life was gold prospecting. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. Another passion was collecting sports cards and sports memorabilia while following his favorite teams, the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.

Most of all, Ray loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by: his father, Donald A. Herrick Sr. and his wife Ruth; Ray’s wife of 35 years, Carrie Chenery; three children, Raymond E. Herrick Jr., Jerome A. Herrick, and Alicia L. Herrick; two brothers, Donald Herrick Jr. and his partner Pat Smith, and Steve Herrick; one sister, Donna Herrick; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will be private.
