SACO — Noella Courtois, 89, of Saco, passed away Monday evening on July 17, 2017, at Seal Rock Health Care in Saco.

She was born in Ham-Sud, Quebec, Canada, on May 22, 1928, a daughter of Oscar and Antoinette (Auger) Filiault. She was educated in Canada and moved to the United States in the early 1950s.

Noella was employed as a certified nurses’ assistant for Evergreen Manor in Saco for 18 years.

She enjoyed walking and gardening. Noella was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul on Nov. 2, 1989, and by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by: four children, Susan J. Libby and her husband, Scott, of Arundel, Anne Collette and her husband, David Mason, of Portland, Steven M. Courtois and his wife, Cathy, of Lyman, and David B. Courtois and his wife, Bobbi, of Saco; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Rose Corneau and her husband, Armand; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to Beacon Hospice and Seal Rock Health Care for all their care and support.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will be at a later date.
