Pictured above are Maine School of Science and Math seniors Thomas Lindell from Frankfort, Hannah Stetson from Pittston, George Spahn from Hallowell and Andrew Reilley from West Kennebunk, who were named as candidates in the United States Presidential Scholars Program. Approximately 20 females and 20 males are selected as candidates from each state. In April, the Commission selects up to 121 academic scholars and up to 20 art scholars. All scholars are honored for their accomplishments in Washington, D.C. in June. Absent from the photo, who also were named candidates, were Josephine Sartoris-Sehon from Brunswick and Megan Goodell from North Haven.
