SACO — Esther Martin, 91, of Saco, died Saturday at the Evergreen Manor in Saco.
She was born Nov. 9, 1923 in Rumford, a daughter of Joseph and Melvina (Arsenault) Martin, and was educated there.
She had been employed at the Boisse Cascade Mill and also Dorian’s Market, both in Rumford.
She enjoyed knitting, shopping and travel.
She is preceded in death by: two brothers, Joseph Jr. and Roland Martin; and one sister, Gloria Lamontagne, in 2013.
She is survived by: a niece, Lisa Flynn and her husband Daniel of Saco; two nephews, Daniel Martin, his wife Jennifer and their son Aiden of Harrington, Delaware, and Dale Martin, his wife Kathy and their children Joe and Jane of New Hartford, Connecticut.
There will no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Rumford in the spring.
