BIDDEFORD — Paulette R. Loranger, 83, of Biddeford, died surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at her home in Biddeford.

She was born on Sept. 29, 1931 to Emile G. and Rose (Gregoire) LeBlond in Biddeford. She is a graduate of St. Andre’s High School, class of 1949.

Paulette married Raymond A. Loranger on April 14, 1951 at St. Andre’s Church. They spent 37 years together until his death on May 8, 1988.

She worked at Saco-Lowell Shops in Biddeford for eight years, then spent 27 years with Maremont Corp. in Saco.

After that, she worked eight years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts in Biddeford and South Portland until her retirement in 1993.

Paulette was a member of the Fremont Club, Biddeford Senior Citizens, and was a past president of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She also volunteered at Southern Maine Health Care for 23 years and Biddeford Primary Schools for 20 years. She was a Den Mother and Girl Scout leader of Den #309. She enjoyed bowling at Vacationland Bowling Lanes in Saco, golfing, home crafts, puzzles and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by: a son, Raymond R. Loranger and his wife Kim of Biddeford; two daughters, Joanne Canning and her husband David of Saco, and Patricia Huot and her husband Richard of Biddeford; five grandchildren, Kevin and his significant other Sarah, Samantha and her husband Craig, Timothy and his wife Kaitlynn, Heather and her significant other Paul, and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Arya; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paulette’s name may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
