BIDDEFORD — Adrienne L. Dodge, 97, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.

She was born March 5, 1917 in Biddeford, a daughter of Walter and Marie Anne (Binette) LeBrun, and was educated locally.

On April 19, 1939, she married Roberts A. Dodge at St. Joseph’s Church.

Over the years Mrs. Dodge had been employed at local shoe shops, including Herman Shoe in Scarborough and Bruce Shoe in Biddeford, retiring in 1979. Her years of experience enabled her to share her knowledge by teaching the trade to newcomers.

In her retirement, Adrienne completed her education by acquiring her GED through the Biddeford Adult Education Program.

Mrs. Dodge was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella for over 40 years. She was a great cook and an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. One of her favorite activities was traveling with her sister, Marguerite.
