DALTON, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers say odd circumstances and bad luck led to a snowmobile crash in Dalton that injured the driver.
They say 60-year-old Peter Packard of Whitefield was trying to leave a yard and needed to go up and over a plowed snowbank. But upon cresting the snowbank and heading down the other side Tuesday, his snowmobile came to a sudden stop in a pocket of deep, new snow. He was thrown from his machine and struck the ground.
He was hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
