Tractor trailor fire
Maine State Police say no one was injured, but a tractor trailer was destroyed when it caught fire at the Kennebunk service plaza off the southbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike Friday afternoon. The driver, Adem Bajrami, 32, of Agawam, Massachusetts told troopers he had just pulled into the parking lot and discovered the truck’s cab was on fire. Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said the driver believes the fire started around the battery compartment on the passenger side of the cab. The truck was empty and owned by L and A Trucking of Agawam. The fire was out in about 45 minutes leaving only a charred shell of the truck and trailer in the parking lot. Traffic along the turnpike was not disrupted, although many motorists slowed down to watch the fire, McCausland said in a prepared statement.
