Lyman — Mary Lee Cole, 86, of Lyman, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at York Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Ackerly, Texas on Oct. 19, 1928, a daughter of Marcus Lafayette and Coleetta Smith, and attended Kennebunk Schools.

In her childhood years, she volunteered picking blueberries at the Blueberry Plains in Kennebunk.

Mary worked several jobs, including Kesslen Shoe Shop, Morning Star and Burger King North Bound at Maine Turnpike in Kennebunk, until her retirement many years ago.

Mary was very proud that she graduated from Adult Education at the Massabesic High School in Waterboro. She was a member of the West Kennebunk Methodist Church.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is predeceased by: a daughter, Sandra Bombard.

Mary is survived by: a daughter, with whom she lived, Barbara Brown and her husband Donald; five sons, Richard Brogdhan, Kenny Cole, Donald Cole, Bobby Cole and Michael Cole; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Alfred Road, West Kennebunk, with Reverend Deb Hanson officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, Maine 04074 in Mary’s memory.
