SACO — Mary G. Dawn, 97, of 22 Pepperell St., passed away Nov. 24, 2014 at her residence.

She was born in Saco on Nov. 9, 1917, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Roberts Grace.

She attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1936.

She was a bookkeeper at various businesses in the area.

She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Hollis Center Baptist Church for more than 35 years.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, travel and reading.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Dawn.

Survivors include: a son, Rev. David A. Dawn and his wife Colleen of Aberdeen, South Dakota; two daughters, Mary V. and Bertha A. Dawn of Saco; three grandchildren, Phoebe, Matthew and Patrick Dawn, all of Aberdeen, South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 3-5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. Visiting hours will again be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at the Hollis Center Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service to immediately follow. Rev. Ron Sargent will officiate.
