WELLS — Jo-Ann’s Gardens will donate $2 for every Christmas tree sold between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve to support the Wells Public Library’s “Growing Again” program. And the first 50 people to buy a tree will receive a $5 gift certificate that can be redeemed on any purchase in 2015.
Proceeds from the holiday event will go toward the Wells Public Library Foundation’s program to raise private donations as a portion of the public-private partnership with the town of Wells to renovate and expand the current library. The project includes upgrades to the existing building and construction of an attached two-story addition. To date, more than $510,000 has been contributed and pledged to the campaign by individuals, businesses and grants.
Christmas trees, seasonal greens, plants and accessories are available at Jo-Ann’s Gardens two Wells locations: 708 North Berwick Road and the Potting Shed at 579 Post Road; both are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
