CUMBERLAND — Ben Leverett scored the game winner on a shot from outside the 18-yard box with 16 minutes left as second-seeded Greely survived a major scare from seventh-seeded Wells 3-2 in a Western Class B boys soccer quarterfinal on Tuesday night.
The Rangers (10-3-2) had led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a goal by Ben Ingraham off a Jacob Nason cross, but Liam Bell tied the game up for the Warriors (7-7-2) with a penalty kick in the opening minutes of the second half.
Hunter Graham scored on a breakaway to put Greely back up 2-1, only for Bell to soon after net his second to again even things before Leverett’s winner.
Chandler Bridge made nine saves for the Warriors, with John Wright making six stops for the Rangers.
