BIDDEFORD — Sylvia Haley Bourgault, 78, of Old Pool Road, Biddeford, passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 16, with her family by her side.
Sylvia was born in Biddeford on Nov. 25, 1935, the daughter of Orman and Florence Lake Haley.
Sylvia attended Biddeford schools.
She worked on the family farm for many, many years.
Sylvia married Richard Bourgault on Oct. 8, 1965, and raised her family in Biddeford on the family farm.
She was a member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Jamie C. Roberts Kingsbury.
She loved family gatherings, playing poker and beano, and her two cats.
Sylvia is survived by: her husband, Richard; children, Dan W. Roberts Sr., Evelyn and her husband Philippe Dumont, Tammy and her husband Jeffrey Clegg, all of Biddeford, and Richard O. Bourgault of Portland; five grandchildren, Melissa, Thomas, Jennifer, Heather and Daniel Jr.; and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 20, 2014 at the Cornerstone Methodist Church, 20 Jenkins Road in Saco, with Pastor Mimi Magee officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Flowers are happily accepted, and for those wishing to make memorial donations, please consider the Maine Cancer Foundation, 170 U.S. Route 1, Suite 250, Topsham, ME 04105, in Sylvia’s memory.
