WELLS — The Wells Fire and Police departments are opening their doors to the public during an open house on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The town is proposing a new consolidated public safety building to include both the police and fire departments, at a cost of $14.3 million. A new fire substation to replace two existing ones is also part of the proposal. Residents will vote on the issue on June 13.
Public safety staff will be on hand at the open house to give tours of the public safety buildings at 1563 Post Road, answer questions and address concerns.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.
The event is sponsored by the Wells Police Benevolent Association, Wells Professional Firefighters Association, Highpine Fire Association and Wells Branch Fire Association.
