LIVERMORE (AP) — Investigators believe a Livermore, Maine, man fell asleep at the wheel just before a crash that left two others dead.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department says 27-year-old Matthew Bussiere was driving north on Federal Road on Saturday when his SUV crossed the center line and crashed into a minivan driven by 9-year-old Thomas Ryan of Leeds. Ryan later died at the hospital; his passenger, 46-year-old Gary Chadburn of Leeds, died at the scene.

Bussiere was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
