SCARBOROUGH — The Insane Inflatable 5K, a race series made up of inflatable obstacles and taking place in 16 cities across the United States, will be coming to Scarborough on Sept. 20 at Scarborough Downs.
The course is approximately three miles, and a portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to Camp Sunshine. In addition to the adult course for ages 12 and older, there will be a Junior Bouncers course for ages 6-11. Beyond the obstacles and the race, the Insane Inflatable 5K will also have a “Midway” where participants can enjoy more inflatables, music spun by DJs from local radio stations, food, beverages, and merchandise from local vendors and sponsors.
Registration fees include an event T-shirt and medal upon completion. The race will not be timed, rather participants will start in waves that begin at 9 a.m., and run concurrently every half-hour until 1:30 p.m. There will be two starting times for the kids’ course at 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
