KENNEBUNKPORT — Local author David Morse will be the guest at the next Larks Meeting at the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library.
Morse will read from his new book, “Harry and Maude Take it On” on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. Morse is a retired physician whose writings have appeared in the Boothbay Register, Animus and the Harbor Journal. He wrote a children’s book, “Julie’s Climb.” He has also moderated writers groups in Massachusetts and Maine.
His characters, as exemplified in “Harry and Maude Take it On,” depict the foibles and redeeming features found in everyone, he says.
He and his wife, Joan, live in Wells, where they enjoy exploring the nearby nature preserves.
The Larks meetings are all about people supporting people. Sessions focus primarily on how to survive living alone; finding available resources in the community; being a caregiver; and facing issues in aging.
Refreshments and book signing will follow the discussion.
The library is located at 18 Maine St. in Kennebunkport.
Contact the library at 967-2778 for more information.
Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
