EAST WATERBORO — Jeannette A. Paquette, 89, of East Waterboro and formerly of Biddeford, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, following a brief illness.
She was born July 10, 1925 in Sanford, a daughter of Joseph and Angelina (Marchand) Berard, and was educated there.
She had been employed at Paul’s Diner in Biddeford for 18 years and later worked as a teller at Unionmutual’s (Unum) Employee Credit Union, retiring in 1984.
On July 7, 1979 she married Robert Paquette at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.
Jeannette enjoyed a very full life. Her greatest pleasures included family gatherings at the lake, music, New England sports, her flower gardens, playing cards, reading, travel and “drives to nowhere.” But most of all, she loved being around her children and grandchildren.
Jeannette was preceded in death by: her husband of 31 years, Noel J. Valliere, on April 28, 1976; and her son, John D. Valliere on March 5, 1993.
She is survived by: her husband of 35 years, Robert of East Waterboro; five daughters, Elizabeth Loranger and her husband Donald of Biddeford, Carole Deschambault and her husband Paul of Hollis, Kathleen Labelle of Biddeford, Nancy Collette and her husband Marc of Biddeford, Patricia Kennedy and her husband Curtis of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sons, James Valliere and his wife Nancy of Biddeford, and Richard Valliere of Portland; one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Timmins Valliere of Old Orchard Beach; one step-son, Carl Paquette and his wife Kathryn of Portland; one sister, Georgette Garneau of Sanford; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 1 step great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at St. Joseph’s Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Street, Biddeford.
