BIDDEFORD — Shirley Ann (Tozier) Isaac passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at home with her family by her side. She courageously fought a battle with renal failure for the past 10 years.

She was born to Francis Grant and Harold Tozier on Aug. 11, 1938.

Shirley graduated from Thornton Academy in 1956.

On Dec. 15, 1956, she married Robert Isaac of Restigouche, Canada and they had nine children.

Shirley was a teacher’s aide for special needs children with the Biddeford School Department, retiring in June 2001.

Shirley and several friends met together for many years and formed a crochet/knitting group. She taught many young people the art of crocheting and needlepoint. Shirley made several crochet quilts for family members and personalized each and every one. Shirley also made crochet tablecloths, doilies and bedspreads. Another passion for Shirley was doing jigsaw puzzles and caring for her cats.

She was a member of the AMVETS Post 1 Ladies Auxiliary since 1982, holding several positions in this fine organization. Shirley won various awards as a member of the AMVETS Post 1 Ladies Auxiliary for her community service and assistance for

the veterans.

Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis Robbins and stepfather Fred Robbins, and Harold Tozier and stepmother Margaret Tozier; stepsister Philomena Brackett and her husband Robert; sons, Robert Bill Isaac and Stephen Isaac; and granddaughter, Ashley Isaac-Moore.

Shirley is survived by: her children, Sandra Isaac, Diana Kay Tracy and her spouse Michael, Keith Isaac, Dawn Fortier and her spouse Mark, Scott Isaac, Toni Aldrich and her companion Kevin Caddigan and Terri Isaac; her sister, Frances Kay Morrison and her spouse Gray; five grandchildren, Brad Tracy, April Isaac-Jefferson and her spouse Jamie Isaac-Jefferson, Heidi Aldrich, Nicole Moore, Army Sgt. Joshua Isaac and his spouse retired Air Force Capt. Kristen Isaac; four great-grandchildren, Kylie and McKayla Tracy, Chloe Corriveau and Hadley Isaac-Jefferson; one niece, Mary Jo Ulrich; one nephew, Ben Owens; and special people to Shirley, Howard and Stephen Michaud.

Visiting hours and services will be held at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, on Sunday, July 6 from 1-3 p.m. A 3 p.m. service will follow at the funeral home, with Rick Stilphen officiating. A celebration of life will be held at the AMVETS Post 1, 147 Alfred St., Biddeford, also on Sunday. Burial will take place on Monday, July 7 at 2 p.m. at Tory Hill Cemetery.
