WELLS — Come to the Wells Public Library on or after June 30 to participate in the annual summer reading program.
This summer, kids ages 3 to entering fourth grade will receive a prize for every two hours they read or are read to, up to 14 hours. There will be events all summer long, kicking off with Mad Science of Maine on June 30 at 10:30 a.m.
Youth entering fifth through 12th grades will receive a prize for every hour that they read, up to 10 hours. For the next 20 hours of reading, they will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of two skim boards, one of two $25 Amazon gift cards, or one of four $10 iTunes/Google Play gift cards.
Everyone who registers will also be entered into raffles all summer long to win prizes from Scoop Deck, Wonder Mountain Extreme Mini Golf and Big Daddy’s Ice Cream.
The summer reading program is free and sponsored by the Friends of the Wells Public Library.

Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
