OGUNQUIT (AP) — Officials say an explosion at a restaurant in Ogunquit blew out some windows and sent two workers to the hospital.
Fire Chief Mark O’Brien says two workers suffered burns late Tuesday morning at the Captain’s Catch on Main Street. He says there were no patrons because the blast happened before the restaurant opened for lunch.
Maine State Police say 44-year-old Allison Soucier of Wells suffered burns to her legs and 50-year-old Christopher Graham suffered burns to his legs and some respiratory issues. Both were being treated at hospitals.
Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said fire marshals say there was a buildup of gas from the stove, which the two were trying to light.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
