“Arsenic and Old Lace” will show at the Hackmatack Playhouse, Friday, June 20 through July 5. Carol Davenport and Tinka Darling Finley, who were both in the 1992 version, return to recreate the roles of the homicidal aunts this summer in this comedy about the crazy Brewster family. Hackmatack Playhouse is located on School Street (Route 9) in Berwick. “8 Track: The Sounds Of The 70’s” will show at the Arundel Barn Playhouse, 53 Old Post Road, Arundel, from June 17-28, featuring a musical evening of ’70s pop hits from artists such as The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, the Bee Gees, Helen Reddy and more. Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” will be performed by the Nasson Youth Theater program, June 20, 21, 25, 26 at 6 p.m. and June 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for children and seniors. Students of the program have been included in every part of the production, building sets, props, costumes, as well as running lighting and sound. The Biddeford+Saco ArtWalk on Friday, June 27 will feature an Instagram “Get Framed” contest. The ArtWalk takes place from 5-8 p.m. at more than 20 venues in downtown Biddeford and Saco. Artwalk participants can enter the contest by tagging photos of themselves at designated venues during the event. Art walkers who upload four hashtagged photos to Instagram or Twitter will be entered into a drawing to win one of several prizes including free City Theater passes, free workshop classes and gift certificates to local retailers. Art HOPE Creative Wellness Walks will be offered at Laudholm Farm on Tuesday June 24, July 29 and Aug. 26, 10 a.m. to noon. Artists of all ages acn enjoy a gentle hike and fresh air arts on the lawn at Laudholm Farm at the Wells Reserve. Art HOPE artist-in-residence, Laura Jaquays, will demonstrate simple watercolor techniques and discuss the benefits of everyday creativity for health and well-being. “Regional Artists: An Open, Juried Show” will open at the Barn Gallery in Ogunquit on June 25. Cellist Ani Kalayjian and pianist Ilya Kazantsev will perform at The Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum, 505 Main St., Springvale, on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. Works by Samuel Barber, Glazunov, Khachaturian and Piazzolla, will be performed, as well as the Sonata for Cello and Piano in D Major by Mendelssohn. The summer concert series at Wells Harbor Park will take place on Saturdays beginning June 28 through Aug. 30. All concerts will be at the Hope Hobbs Gazebo on Landing Road (off Route 1). Rain location is Ward Gym at Wells Junior High School on Route 1. All concerts start at 6:30 p.m. and run for about an hour. Admission is free thanks to sponsor support. Concert-goers should bring their own blanket or chair. On June 28: All Together Now will perform the music of the Beatles; on July 5, the Strafford Wind Symphony will perform patriotic and traditional music.
Don and Cindy Roy of Gorham will perform Sunday, June 22, at 3 p.m. at the The West Kennebunk United Methodist Church as part of its Concerts in West K series. Roy is a master fiddler, leader of Fiddleicious, and is accompanied by his wife, Cindy, on piano and foot percussion. Admission is by donation. Accomplished singer and instrumentalist Monica Grabin will perform two concerts featuring songs from World War I and World War II, in collaboration with the Brick Store Museum’s “Vitamin V” exhibit.
