SANFORD — Want to voice your opinion on the skills, experience and style of the next Sanford High School principal?
Now’s your chance.
With Principal Jed Petsinger about to depart for a new job in England, Sanford School Department is asking folks to take an online survey to add their perspective at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/23STJWN
The survey asks what respondents feel are important issues facing the school system in the coming years, and how they rate certain measures of experience, like involving staff, parents and students in decision-making; experience reaching consensus; leading change; experience as a principal; and using test data for decision-making.
The deadline for completing the survey is May 30.
The school department has already begun advertising the position. They’ll put together a search committee, review survey results, screen applicants and hope to schedule candidate interviews and check references during the week of June 9. The committee would hold final interviews the week of June 16, and nominate a candidate June 23.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
