I want to thank the people of Cornish, Newfield, Limerick, Parsonsfield, Shapleigh, Sanford, Springvale and Waterboro for helping me qualify as a Clean Elections candidate.
The Clean Elections option allows me to have equal access, so that once elected, I will not be beholden to big business, members of the lobbies or political action committees.
The support I received this time was the most I have ever received as a Clean Elections candidate, and I am humbled by your support.
I believe I have been the kind of thoughtful Maine senator who can listen to all parties and craft good public policy for all the citizens of Maine Senate District 33.
I look forward to seeing you as I campaign throughout the district, and I would appreciate your vote in the June 10 Democratic primary.
Sen. John L. Tuttle, Sanford

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
