Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon leaves the dugout after Boston’s 4-3 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday in Baltimore. Papelbon gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth in the season-ending loss. Coupled with Tampa Bay’s 8-7 victory over the New York Yankees, the Rays edged out Boston in the American League wild-card race and earned a spot in the playoffs.
