PRESQUE ISLE (AP) — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says it has charged an Aroostook County couple with trafficking bath salts.
Agents said they seized more than 3 pounds of the synthetic hallucinogen, along $6,760, a shotgun, a loaded 9 mm handgun and other drugs from their home in Woodland.
Arrested after the search Thursday were 44-year-old Lance Ellison and 41-year-old Kathryn Ellison.
Both made initial court appearances on Friday. An official at the Aroostook County Jail said Kathryn Ellison was being held on $30,000 bail while Lance Ellison was held on $100,000. It was unclear if they’d retained a lawyer.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
