Saco — Virginia W. Moore, 92, formerly of Glenhaven Circle, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at Huntington Commons in Kennebunk. She was born in North Anson, Maine, Sept. 8, 1924 the daughter of Earl and Caroline Robinson Wing.

Virginia graduated from Anson Academy in North Anson and later from the University of Maine in Orono, class of 1945. Following graduation, she worked as a chemist at Ansco in Binghamton, New York and the University at Berkeley, California.

Virginia was as active volunteer in the Saco area. She participated in the Sweetser Lecture Series, the Saco Planning Board and was President of Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission.

She was a long-time member of the Dyer Library and Saco Museum, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society of York County, American Association of University Woman (AAUW), the Maine Historical Society and the Maine Genealogy Society.

Virginia is preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas F. Moore.

Mrs. Moore is survived by: son Duncan T. Moore and his wife Gunta Linders of Rochester, New York; daughters Kathleen (Dee) M. Kurlanski and her husband Zbigniew of Kennebunk, and Jeanne R. Moore of Berlin, Maryland; a brother in law, Linwood P. Hill of Holden, Maine; four grandchildren, Jozef Z. Kurlanski and his wife Nicole, Kristina Kurlanski, Alexandra P. Myers and husband Seth, Mathew D. Moore and wife Nicole; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Nikolas and Evan Kurlanski, Henry Myers, Keagan and Griffin Moore.

Friends and relatives may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home 365 Main St, Saco, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. 

A 2 p.m. memorial service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home.

Private burial will preceded the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
