SACO—For more than 142 years, the Saco Grange has been a popular gathering place for programs and events that promote civic pride in the community.

Dedicated to improving the lives of everyone in the community, state and country, the grange continues to host programs that further community education, recreation, the economy, agricultural history and municipal well-being.

On Tuesday, Jan. 3,  the Saco Grange #53 will be hosting the Quilting/Craft Club.

The public is invited to bring in unfinished craft projects and get inspired to start new ones. Admission is free, with donations greatly appreciated.

On Friday, Jan. 6, the grange welcomes the public to the 2017 Acoustic Country Jam from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and free coffee. A $5 donation is appreciated at the door.

On Saturday, Jan. 21, the grange will conduct a Public Bean Supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The cost to participate is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 12 under and chidren under 5 are free.

Menu items include homemade kidney and pea beans, brown bread, red and brown hot dogs, American chop suey, coleslaw, hot rolls/biscuits, pies and hot and cold beverages.

Those bringing in canned good for veterans will receive $1 off your meal and take out will be available.
