WATERBORO — The Massabesic/ Old Orchard Beach/ Bonny Eagle hockey team fell to visiting York 5-2 Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats jumped to an early 2-0 lead, however MOB would tighten the score when Tanner McClure put away a goal in the second period. York would respond less than three minutes later, scoring a goal and taking a 3-1 lead into the third period.

Although MOB’s Travis Marah would add another goal in the third, the York attack would continue too and the Wildcats would secure the 5-2 win with two more goals in the final period.

St. Dominic Academy 6, Thornton Academy 2

The hosting St. Dominic hockey team powered past Thornton Academy in its season opener on Saturday.

Boys Swimming

Thornton Academy 109, Windham 49

TA’s 200 medley team of Joshua Roberts, Joe Vail, Eli Steward and Eli Roch took home first place, while Roberts also won the 200 freestyle.

Vail would later win the 200 IM, followed by Steward who won the 50 free. Vail also finished first in the 100 butterfly, while Roch took first in the 100 free. Roberts also won the 500 free.

TA’s team of Tom Cote, Will Murrietta, Felix Machacek and Vail won the 200 freestyle relay, while Roch won the backstroke. The Trojans would cap off the afternoon with a win in the 400 freestyle relay with the group of Roberts, Roch, Steward and Nolan Eisnhauer.

Girls Swimming

Thornton Academy 83, Windham 75

The Trojans would get a win in the 200 medley relay with the team of Grace Soucy, Mary Steward, Nicole Cyr and Mollie Eaton, while Eaton also won the 200 free.

Steward would later win the butterfly, while Eaton took home first in the 100 free, and Soucy won the 500 free. Soucy also finished first in the backstroke while Steward won the breaststroke.

TA’s team of Steward, Cyr, Eaton and Soucy would cap off the day with a win in the 400 freestyle relay.
