NAPLES — A crowd of more than 300 said goodbye to Krista Dittmeyer Monday afternoon inside a somber gymnasium at Lake Region High School.
Friends and family remembered the 20-year-old Portland woman, who died under mysterious circumstances more than a week ago at a ski resort in New Hampshire, leaving behind a 14-month-old daughter who was found in her mother’s idling car.
Kayla Dittmeyer fought back tears to read a long poem to her younger sister.
The mother of a close friend and four classmates also spoke at the funeral service, as did the Rev. Don Mayberry of the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office said Monday that a criminal investigation into Dittmeyer’s death remains ongoing.
