BUXTON — The MSAD 6 school board is scheduled to vote Monday night whether to approve an interim principal and an interim vice-principal for Bonny Eagle High School.

The board will vote whether to appoint current Bonny Eagle High School Vice Principal Lori Napolitano to the position of interim principal.

Napolitano has been employed as vice principal since 2005, according to school board documents. Penna and an interview committee are recommending her for the position, according to school board documents.

Napolitano and an interview committee are recommending Stanley Sampson II for the position of interim assistant principal at the high school. Sampson has been a social studies teacher at Bonny Eagle since 1999, according to school board documents.

The school board, which serves Buxton, Hollis, Limington, Standish and Frye Island, is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Bonny Eagle Middle School.

Former Bonny Eagle High School Principal Paul Penna left the position earlier this month to become interim superintendent of MSAD 6.

Penna replaced former Superintendent Frank Sherburne, who resigned in May amidst a swirl of controversy.

The MSAD 6 Board of Directors determined that the district’s nepotism policy was violated when Sherburne’s son, Zachariah, was hired as an education technician at Buxton Central Elementary without bringing it to the full school board for approval after the interview process was completed.

School Board Chairman Lester Herman said earlier this month that the school board will begin the process of appointing a permanent superintendent in September, with the goal of having someone in place by July 2017.
