OGUNQUIT — Join the Ogunquit Conservation Commission for a kickoff presentation of planned work for the Ogunquit River Watershed Restoration Project, Phase II on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Ogunquit Community Center, 23 School Street.

The Ogunquit Conservation Commission, the Town of Ogunquit, FB Environmental Associates and Maine DEP are working together on this Phase II initiative to improve water quality and reduce bacteria levels in the Ogunquit River watershed. The project is funded by a grant awarded to the Town of Ogunquit through the EPA Clean Water Act Section 319 grant program. This is the second grant awarded to the town from this grant program.

At the kickoff meeting, there will be a brief presentation about water quality in the Ogunquit River watershed, updates on Phase I of the restoration project and a discussion of the tasks in Phase II.

This is an opportunity to learn about what’s happening in the watershed and how to get involved.
