ROCKPORT
THE CAMDEN HILLS REGIONAL High School’s Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers groups each won first-place trophies May 14 at regional choral competitions of the Heritage Music Festival at Topsfield, Mass. Together, the two choirs earned the highest point total and took home the festival’s Choral Sweepstakes Award, which includes an invitation to Chamber Singers to compete in a future festival at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
STANDISH
BONNY EAGLE HIGH SCHOOL recently hosted the School Administrative District 6 annual Senior Citizens’ Night, honoring senior citizens from the towns of Buxton, Hollis, Limington, Standish and Frye Island.
The high school chorus entertained senior honorees, who were served a free turkey dinner by student members of the Key Club and the National Honor Society. The seniors won raffle items made by students and plants that were donated by the Snell Family Farm in Bar Mills.
KENNEBUNK
REGIONAL SCHOOL UNIT 21 has received a grant from Corning Incorporated Foundation to support the International Baccalaureate Program assessment training for Middle School of the Kennebunks staff members.
The three-day training will help teachers refine learning objectives through essential questions and connect this work to assessment criteria.
WATERBORO
THE MASSABESIC LIONS CLUB recently honored six Massabesic High School students for outstanding volunteerism in school and the community during its annual Youth Recognition Night. Those students included John Chenard, Samantha Gray, Delani O’Connell, James Walsh and Cassondra Larochelle, all seniors, and Steven Lord, a sophomore, Each of the honorees received a recognition plaque.
