Clermont, Fla. —Patricia Mary (Coyle) Sermania passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 21, 2016, in Clermont, Florida. She was 78 years young.

Patti was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on Jan. 29 to John Coyle and Mary Ellen

McKenna) Coyle. She married William Sermania on Oct.. 8, 1960 at Blessed Sacrament Church.

Patti was a 1959 graduate of Immaculata College and completed graduate studies in adolescent psychology. She was a founder of Family Life at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Saco with numerous published articles to her credit. She co-designed the church’s PreCana marriage preparation program and the Parenting Skills course. She also taught Christian Doctrine.

She was an accomplished real estate agent, founding Sunshine Realty. She excelled as a Cub Scout leader and established yearbook programs at the local Catholic schools. She would tell you, however, that her most significant accomplishment was to raise five wonderful children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jacqueline.

She is survived by: her spouse of 55 years (and 22 different addresses), Bill; and five children: her only daughter, Jacquelyn of Cornelius, North Carolina, her eldest son Bill (and his wife Lisa), of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Jim (and his wife Marytheresa), of Chesapeake, Virginia, John (and his wife Paige), of Parkland Florida, and her youngest son, Michael, who lived with and provided care for Patti (and Bill) for the last 18 months.

Her grandchildren include: McKenna and TJ (to Jackie); Jackie, Maria, and Michael (to Bill); Anthony, Vincent and Brenna (to Jim); John, Matt and Chelsea (to John); and Brittany, Chris, Mary and Mike (to Mike).

Viewing and visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home at 1707 New Road in Linwood, New Jersey. A church viewing will be held the next morning at Holy Trinity Parish: Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate, New Jersey at 10 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with burial to be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Pleasantville immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her name.
