Just days after the gallery opens there will be a Grand Opening Reception held on Friday, May 4 from 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. with fine food and drinks, and an opportunity to meet the principals of the gallery. There will also be over 30 artists displaying their artwork at the reception.
The Grand Opening Reception isn’t the only chance to check out the new gallery; The Maine Pottery Tour will make a stop at The Green Heron on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.
The Green Heron is powered by three Mainers, multi-talented Roger Dearborn, potter Kathleen King, and mosaic artist Nancy Maloney who will keep the place open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in May. Moving into June, the gallery will begin to stay open from 10 a.m. untill 9 p.m.
The gallery is located at 16 Shore Road in a space that was once occupied by the June Bug’s Beach House craft shop.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
