BIDDEFORD — Rita A. St. Michel, 51, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

She was born in Biddeford on May 18, 1964, the daughter of Edgar and Lorraine Boissonneault St. Michel. Rita graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School. Sadly, Rita went blind in her early 20s, but it never interfered with her joyful nature.

She loved to listen to music and books on tape. Rita had a lovely voice. She enjoyed singing and was very creative; she dabbled on her keyboard writing music and lyrics. She also wrote beautiful poetry.

She was inventive, trying to craft things to make life easier. Rita was quick-witted and had a great sense of humor; she loved to joke with her friends. She will be best known for her kind, loving spirit and generosity.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her boyfriend, Norbert Tondreau.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Dyer of Old Orchard Beach, and two nieces, Breanna Nemet and Hannah Nemet. She will also be missed by her friends Tasney, Muriel and Walter D’Antilio of Wells, Claude Pelletier of Portland, and many other friends too numerous to mention.

Friends and relatives may call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral and Cremation, 365 Main St, Saco. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and will be followed by a graveside committal, where Rita will be laid to rest beside Norbert at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford.
