It is time for a new generation of ideas. After serving the last 12 years in the Legislature, I have decided not to run for re-election to the Senate. I urge voters to elect Rep. Justin Chenette in the June 14th primary.

When I first met Justin, nine years ago, he was a sophomore at Thornton Academy. He was already the program manager for TATV and had his own political talk show. Since the first day he interviewed me – when I was a representative – I knew he was special.

His energy, knowledge, commitment and work ethic were outstanding. He went on to put himself through college working multiple jobs. While still in college, he ran for the House and won.

He now has his own media consulting business and non-profit organization where he raises money for charitable causes. He is everywhere in the district, and gives of his time selflessly.

Most importantly, he is a respected, experienced representative who has a reputation for doing extensive research on bills before his committee. He is not influenced by special interests, does not have a PAC, and is running as the only Maine Clean Election candidate in the race.

There is a political revolution happening in our country. People are demanding change and accountability. I firmly believe Rep. Chenette is the future of our state and the future of the Democratic Party.

I urge voters in Saco, Old Orchard Beach, Hollis, Limington and part of Buxton to cast their votes for Rep. Justin Chenette of Saco for Senate on June 14 in the Democratic primary.

Sen. Linda Valentino
Senate District 31
